Hard-hearted thieves have walked off with a four-year-old's treasured glider.
The remote-control glider was given to Rian Morgan, of Honywood Way, Frinton, as a Christmas present.
On Monday afternoon, Rian and his dad Andrew, took the new glider, which has a two-metre wing span, to a field near their house to try it out but the battery ran out.
Mr Morgan, who is an engineer and is also a member of a model aircraft club, said: "We came back to get another battery and we left the glider outside the house under the porch because it doesn't fit through the door.
"We came back 15 to 20 minutes later and it wasn't there."
He said whoever had the glider would be able to fly it but would not be able to control it without the remote control which they had taken inside the house when they went to get the new battery.
"Rian loves aircraft. I didn't want him getting upset, so I said it's just being repaired," Mr Morgan added.
Anyone who finds the glider or has any information about it should call the police on 01255 221312.
