The fight against plans to build a new airport at Cliffe in Kent has been taken to the House of Commons.
Castle Point MP Bob Spink has spoken out against the plans by raising an Early Day Motion.
Tory Mr Spink's plan received all-party support, with signatories including Southend West Tory David Amess and Thurrock's Andrew Mackinlay.
Mr Spink denounces the Government for refusing to send ministers to public meetings to explain their Cliffe proposals and refusing to listen to the public's views. He calls on the Government to make an early announcement rejecting Cliffe Airport.
He was also concerned about the impact the planned airport would have on Southend.
