Pupils, parents and nearby residents are set to benefit from two up-to-date multi-media and art centres.
Bardfield Primary School, in Basildon, has received a £350,000 grant for the centres which will allow people in the community to paint, sculpt, make videos and music as well as providing children with a fantastic new resource.
Yvonne Burgess, headteacher at the school, said: "The centres will be very exciting and provide the community, including other schools, with a great opportunity to work with textiles, paints and sculpture.
"They will also allow us to enrich the curriculum at the school and allow us to bring parents much more into the school with after-school courses for pupils and parents."
Work on the centres is due to start in March and should hopefully be finished by the end of the year.
The grant comes fromfrom the Sport's Council.
