A newly-appointed school head has resigned - just two days after starting.
Geraldine Fletcher took over her new job at Frobisher Primary School, Jaywick, on Monday.
But today it was confirmed she had stepped down. It was the 52-year-old's first headship.
A spokesman for the education authority, Essex County Council said: "School governors met yesterday to discuss the issue and decided in the best interests of the school to accept the headteacher's resignation.
"The position will be advertised as a matter of priority."
Mrs Fletcher, of Colchester, has five children aged between 15 and 22.
She previously taught in Normandy, France, teaching English and also children with special needs.
Sue Faulkner, who was previously acting head at the school, is currently in charge.
