Thorpe Bay got the new year off to a flying start with a whistle-stop American handicap tournament.
The event was so popular with members that all the club's 12 Astroturf courts were used.
Laurel Healy was the highest scoring lady but the men's tournament ended in a four-way tie.
The matter was settled with a round-robin play off between Ian Carlile, Chris Porter, Chris Watson and Steve Sayers.
Ian eventually ran out as the winner.
Rayleigh took on Billericay in Essex Winter League Division 2A in a match that finished in a draw.
