After the frustrations of rain, Billericay Town's plans of getting back into Ryman Premier action last night were scuppered by a frostbound pitch.
Gary Calder's men had been hopeful of going ahead with their scheduled home match with Boreham Wood -- originally postponed on New Year's Day -- but, with temperatures plummeting below zero, the referee made his "no play" decision soon after 6pm.
It was the third successive match -- and fourth in five games -- that Billericay had lost to the weather and they have still played only half their scheduled 46 League fixtures -- up to four less than some of their rivals.
It was another grim night on the Ryman scene with only one of three games in the Premier going ahead.
However, at least that provided some comfort for ex-Grays boss Craig Edwards, who saw his Ford United team ease their relegation fears with a 3-2 win at bottom club Hampton and Richmond in a basement battle.
