Tiptree United saw their fourth round Essex Senior Cup match with Waltham Abbey called off for the FIFTH time last night.
The Chapel Road pitch was frozen as temperatures plummeted and Jam-makers manager Neil Farlie joked: "The players didn't have ice skates so we had no choice."
The tie has been switched between the two Essex clubs' grounds since the start of December.
Problems with Abbey's floodlights and travel arrangements and Tiptree's waterlogged, and now frozen, pitch has meant the tie has been continually postponed.
But Farlie said: "The game is due to take place again at our place on Saturday and the weather is supposed to be warming up on Friday so I desperately hope it will go ahead."
Tony Kinsella has hailed the Stanway Rovers players after they won the Jewson League first division club of the month award.
But assistant manager Kinsella said there was still much work to do.
