Domestic violence on the Northlands Park estate in Pitsea is due to be tackled by a drama group and police.
Pitsea police have received £3,000 from Interlock Northlands Park to produce a video raising awareness of domestic violence and encouraging residents on the estate to report it.
Inspector Paul Eveleigh of Pitsea police said: "This campaign could lead to the number of incidents of assaults appearing to go up. It is more important that we get to the bottom of domestic violence rather than concentrate on figures."
