Firefighters in Essex are on stand-by today to deal with the threat of icy roads.
The risk of road accidents in the area have increased with the county expecting more snow during the day.
Motorists on roads around Halstead were urged to take particular care this morning and there was a light covering in other parts of Essex.
Chelmsford Firefighter Mick Weald said today: "We're expecting more snow. If it snows the roads are icy which increase the risks to motorists.
"We went out on a call earlier and the roads were a bit icy so we're asking motorists to be more careful."
