The couple now live in Kings Park, Canvey, moving to the island 18 months ago after a lifetime in Grays -- living in London Road and Parker Road.

Alf, now 75, worked for Esso Petroleum as a tanker driver for 28 years and 74-year-old Eileen gave up working after having her son, Brian. The couple have two grandchildren.
Alf said: "We met at the London Road Working Men's Club in Grays. We'd seen each other around for quite some time, and Eileen was a good dancer.
"The first thing I said to her was that I couldn't dance. It didn't seem to matter as we soon took a shine to each other."
The couple were married at Grays Parish Church in the High Street.
