A fundraising exercise in aid of sick children went far more smoothly than most.
Pub regular Brian Willison, 45, of Vicarage Avenue, White Notley, made good on his promise to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London by having his back waxed at his local on Sunday.

Customers at the Cross Keys in The Street, White Notley, raised more than £500 for the good cause.
Carrying out the waxing was beautician Kelly Twin, who works at CutzTwo hair and beauty salon in Black Notley.
Andi Cleal, who helped organise the event, said: "It went very well. It all started on New Year's Eve with too much to drink and Brian started bragging about his hairy back."
When some of the women said he would never have it waxed, he challenged them to name a charity he would do it for.
"Apparently when he was a small boy he was in Great Ormond Street Hospital, so we hit the right one and he said 'If you get £500 I'll do it'."
