A man whose son was tragically killed in a car crash just before Christmas has appealed for help in finding a vital lost mobile phone.
Rod Skeet's 15-year-old son Andrew died when a car in which he was a passenger collided with an electricity pole and street light in Halstead on December 18.
Now Mr Skeet is offering a £50 reward to anyone who can help him find the mobile phone he lost in the centre of Halstead, possibly around the supermarket car park, some time late last week.
The phone is a distinctive durable bright yellow Eriksson model in a black case with a shark's fin antennae, designed specifically for use in the building trade.
Its simcard contains numbers vital to Mr Skeet's building business, and anyone who hands in either the phone or simcard to a police station can give their details and receive the £50 reward.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said: "Understandably it is a particularly difficult time for Rod and his family at the moment and he has asked that all contacts with regard to the phone are made via the police - he does not want to be approached directly."
