Plans for a major multi-million scheme to protect the Clacton and Holland-on-Sea coastline from the sea are nearing completion.
The project, which will start later this year provided it gets the final go-ahead, will take more than 20 years to finish.
Peterborough-based firm Posford Haskoning has developed the strategy for Tendring Council and is now in the final stages of carrying out a full environmental impact assessment.
It has put its proposals out for consulation and views must be sent in by the end of the month.
The scheme provides a long-term coastal protection plan for sea defences along 6.5km of coastline from Clacton up to Holland Haven, beginning on the Jaywick side of Clacton Pier.
