Rovers roared back into second place in the division with a solid, if unspectacular display at Thetford.

Another shut-out meant that Steve Ball's men have not conceded a goal in their last six league outings, while rattling in 17 at the other end, and he said: "We are looking solid at the moment.

"Throughout the team we have got a lot of quality and decent goalscorers but we just need to keep it going.

"The championship race is going to be very interesting.

"At the moment there are three clubs going for two promotion slots us, Halstead Town and Hadleigh.

"Hadleigh are flying, and Halstead have a game in hand on us, so we just need to keep our run going to stay in the hunt, but it's looking good."

Glen Driver failed to convert either of the two one-on-one chances that fell to him, but on the stroke of half-time, Rovers made the breakthrough.

Lee Abrehart found space on the flank and centred for Danny Stanley to open his account for the club, converting from close in.

The pattern continued after the break, although Thetford raised their game and took the play more to the visitors.

However, Stanway weathered the storm and sealed victory ten minutes from time when Martin Curtis netted their second.
