Children in Basildon are attending after-school clubs in record numbers as they work hard to glean extra knowledge.
The district's schools are leading the way in offering after-school clubs, breakfast clubs and even a children's university during the summer holidays.
The Government has promised an extra £75million a year to schools for such projects.
