A worker at the B&Q store in West Thurrock clinched a runners-up spot in the company's national Best Of The Best competition.
Roy Ward was presented with the award by celebrity DIY expert and TV favourite Tommy Walsh and Bill Whiting, B&Q's chief executive.
As well as the award itself Roy also received £1,000 of Kingfisher vouchers from top TV interior designer, Brigid Calderhead.
B&Q -- which has 33,000 employees -- made the announcement at a ceremony in Bournemouth last week.
