The issue of delays in health checks for Essex heart patients has been raised in Parliament by MP Mark Francois
Mr Francois, whose Rayleigh constituency includes South Woodham, has highlighted delays of up to one year faced by patients in Essex waiting for angiograms.
He called for a debate on the treatment of those who suffer from heart disease.
"That will give us an opportunity to raise the fact that in Essex many patients have to wait up to a year for an angiogram, which is an important diagnostic test for those who may be suffering from heart disease.
"It is unacceptable that in some cases they have to wait up to 12 months for that test to be performed," Mr Francois told Robin Cook, leader of the House of Commons.
Mr Cook did not grant time for a debate but did acknowledge the importance of the issue and said he would ask the Department of Health to look into the concerns raised by Mr Francois and to write to him about the matter.
