Police are trying to trace the owner of a caravan following a crash in Heybridge.
The white Avondale Firefly was being towed by what appeared to be a 4x4 vehicle along Langford Road when it was involved in a collision with another car on the night of December 23.
Following the crash, the driver of the towing vehicle got out, unhitched the caravan and then drove off, leaving the road blocked.
Police have tried to trace the driver but have been unsuccessful and their investigation now leads them to believe the caravan was stolen.
The only distinctive mark is the year 1989 written in black ink on the inside of the door.
Police are now asking anyone with information to contact PC Mark Pearce at Chelmsford road policing unit on 01245 452918.
