A former Southend student has become and an MBE in the New Year Honours List for services to architecture.
Julian Owen was educated at Southend High School for Boys along with brother Timothy who is also an architect.
Julian is an elected member of the ruling Council of the Royal Institute of British Architects and has a practice in Beeston near Nottingham where he went to university.
