Sandbags and pumps have been put into action at a post office in a bid to save it from a watery fate.
Owner of Chappel and Wakes Colne post office, Chris Eaton, has built sandbag wells all around the post office, and his house which is joined to the back, and has been frantically pumping the floodwater out.
He said: "It only has to look like rain and we are flooded. We have got three pumps going and the water is lapping all around the house. It looks like a moat."
Despite the floods, the post office is still open for business and as yet not much damage has been done.
Mr Eaton said: "We are not too badly damaged yet, but we really don't want any more water."
