The Essex County Show is set to be back in 2004.
Essex Showground owner John Holmes, today firmly quashed rumours the event was to be discontinued.
And he said he is fully committed to relaunching the 144-year-old show in 2004.
Recent reports claimed the show had been axed by Essex Agricultural Society.
Essex Showground in Great Leighs was acquired by the society in 1957 to provide a permanent home for the county show.
It is believed the reports of the show being axed began with rumours of the agricultural society not wishing to take part anymore.
Mr Holmes said: "Essex Agricultural Society has the right to decide whether or not it wishes to participate in future county shows.
"We will offer it sponsorship as usual, but should the society choose not to be involved, we will make other arrangements for the agricultural area."
