Curry lovers with a taste for fundraising could help raise thousands of pounds.
A Chelmsford Indian takeaway and restaurant are joining forces to create a mouth-watering chicken and pumpkin curry which will go on sale for Children in Need.
But the Shapla Takeaway and Balti King restaurant, both in the town's Moulsham Street, are not using just any old pumpkin.
Pumpkin pleaser - Foyjur Rahman of Shapla Takeaway prepares the giant pumpkin for Children in Need.
Hungry customers who tuck into the traditional Bangladeshi dish will be eating Europe's heaviest pumpkin, grown by Chris Bonnett, of Bridge Street in Writtle.
Mr Bonnett decided to auction off his monstrous fruit to charity and the Shapla came up with the highest bid of £120, which will also be going to Children in Need.
The takeaway and restaurant then decided to put their culinary skills to the test and use the enormous pumpkin in a curry.
The curry will be cooked and go on sale on November 21, six days after Children in Need Day.
