A man was robbed in Southend when he stopped to tell a stranger the time.
The 18-year-old victim was walking along Marine Parade, talking on his mobile phone, when a man approached him to ask the time.
He took his phone away from his ear to look at the time on it, and the robber snatched it from him and ran off.
He was described as a white male of proportionate build, aged 16 to 17, 5ft 10in tall, wearing a white baseball cap and a black scarf.
