At The Club Room at the Ship pub in New Road, Leigh on November 22, top US bluesman UP Wilson will be appearing.

If blues is not your bag you can catch the brilliant punk tribute band Swindle at the Ship on November 8. They will be playing two sets of 70s punk classics as well as launching their new video Ship Ahoy.

John Otway has quietly announced he will be appearing alongside Dr Feelgood, Eddie and the Hot Rods and the Two Timers at the Naughty Rhythms gig in the Cliffs Pavilion.

There will be live music at The Clarence Yard in Clarence Street, Southend every Monday night from November 11 with Emma Harding and her band appearing on November 18.

November 25 sees Heather Simmans taking the stage and the following week, December 2, the astounding vocals of Mitch Hiller will caress your ears. Doors open at 8pm. Members admission is just £3 and new members are welcome.

The Riga Music Bar in London Road, Westcliff has got the wild Hendrix-orientated Electric Experience on November 8 with support from Crisis Days for just £6.

The following night, you can mosh along to Jam-tribute band Not The Jam with support from Columbo. Again just £6 for entry.

November 15 sees Counterfeit Quo - formerly Piledriver - perform some Status Quo favourites.

The drummer on the night is set to be... John Coghlan. Yes, the original Quo drummer who last appeared on TV with his wife on "Life Laundry" where he sold his drum kit to some pimply faced youth to clear space in his gorgeous cottage. Tickets are again £6.

Finally, the Riga can proudly announce the return of Gary Brooker, Andy Fairweather Low and company for a special gig on December 21. Tickets are £12.50 and there's only about 40 left - available only from the website www.rigamusicbar.co.uk

The big sound of Jesse James who will be at Chinnery's on Southend seafront on November 12. The six piece soul/punk act - think Dexy's Midnight Runners meets the Clash meets Blink 182 - have built up a massive countrywide following (they played at the Leeds and Reading festivals, and feature on Kerrang TV).

At Chinnery's you can also see the superb Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, playing on November 18 at the Seafront Venue. (Ticket price to be confirmed).

Finally for the Chinnery's mob, there's the oh-so-cool Southend ska-Gods Grandmaster Allstars on stage on November 23. Tickets - £5 - are available from the venue and Oh Yeah store in Southend. All gigs will kick off around 8.30pm.
