Soldiers from 10 Transport Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, said their official goodbyes to Colchester today.
The farewell parade
The regiment has been based at Roman Barracks since 1993. The parade, led by Major Nick Byrne, is its way of thanking residents for the support it has given the regiment over the past nine years.
One squadron has been based in Colchester since 1951. The regiment is moving to Aldershot in the new year to be nearer its headquarters 101 Logistic Brigade.
Colchester's mayor Nigel Chapman was due to take the salute in front of the town hall alongside John Nash, the regiment's commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel.
