A 12-year-old boy scored his own win after a Colchester United game.
Andrew Page, of Abberton, was distraught when, after a recent Colchester United match against Chesterfield, he discovered his beloved glove signed by members of the team had been lost.
He had gathered all the names on the goalkeeper' essential piece of kit during a master class with the team.
His teacher at Langenhoe Music School, Vicky Andrews, and her partner Denis Angell had taken him to the game and frantically helped to search for the missing memento.
They were unable to find it and had to return home empty-handed.
But his luck was soon looking up. Mrs Andrews said: "He was obviously very upset. My partner wrote to Colchester United, asking if they would mind signing another.
"Not only did they supply the gloves and had them all signed, they gave my partner a pair too!"
