Rovers' FA Trophy hopes reached the end of the road last night as Ford United stepped up a gear in extra time.

Having held the Ryman Premier team to a 2-2 draw on Saturday, Ryman One North Wakering again came back to force an extra 30 minutes in this first round replay.

Alex Fiddes, who scored in the original tie, found the net after nine minutes to put former Grays Athletic boss Craig Edwards' new team ahead.

The visitors plugged away and got their reward after 73 minutes when Mark Hampshire beat the offside trap, drew Ford keeper Paul Newell out and slotted home into the side netting.

It was even Stevens for the remainder of normal time, but John O'Sullivan restored the hosts' lead two minutes into extra time.

Ford went three up from the penalty spot on 102 minutes when Garry Kimble scored after Neville Hickton was controversially judged to have fouled him.

Leli Bejada made it 4-1 two minutes later, before Glenn Poole (108 mins) and Leon White (110 mins) wrapped things up for the Motormen.
