Teenager Hollie Pritchard whose brave fight against cancer has touched the hearts of friends and family has been given a second award for her courage and the opportunity to meet Prince Charles.
Hollie,17, travelled to Prince Charles home at Highgrove in Gloucestershire with her mother Karen, to pick up the framed "unsung hero" award, organised by the Daily Mail in celebration of the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
The teenager from Queenborough Grove, Great Notley, who was awarded £100 last year, was nominated by her grandmother Christine Pritchard.
Hollie was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 11. She was operated on and had chemo and radiotherapy, but the tumour returned almost four years to the day.
Her attitude to the illness has impressed everyone who comes into contact with her. She is currently doing an IT and business course at Braintree College.
Hollie, now taking tablets to control the growth of the tumour, says: "Living with cancer is difficult. When I go to Addenbrookes I see children who are worse off and you know you are not one of the worse. I take one day at a time.
"At Highgrove we were able to look round the gardens. I spoke to Camilla Parker Bowles. She asked how I was coping with my illness. She seemed very interested in everything."
Hollie is a keen supporter of Sargent Cancer Care for Children.
