Ray "Razor" Trendell was a cut above the opposition as Southend Hockey Club seconds continued their 100 per cent record in the Printwize League.
The league leaders crushed Romford 7-0 with Razor grabbing a hat-trick.
Phil Legget started the goal feast with a tap-in from Karl Druce's set-up before Trendell opened his account, again from Druce's build-up.
The goals flowed in the second period as strikes by Micky Walsh, Trendell (two), Keith Arnold and Druce completed the rout.
However, the first eleven lost their first match of the campaign when they went down 2-0 at Dunmow. "Nothing went our way today," said captain Rob Sanders. "When I missed a penalty I knew it wasn't going to be our day."
