Southend United chief Rob Newman today admitted he was desperate to restore frontman Tes Bramble to the Shrimpers' misfiring frontline.
The 22-year-old striker has missed four of the last five games -- during which time shot-shy Blues have scored just two goals -- suffering from a combination of back and hamstring injuries.
And Newman said he hoped the powerful front-runner, who has netted four times this term, would be back in action at Bristol Rovers this Saturday.
"I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Tes will be back this weekend after failing fitness tests in the run up to our last two games," he said.
"The physio has been working with Tes and he has made a fair improvement. And with no games this week we have got a clear programme to get him fit and ready for action."
