Residents in Clacton and Frinton are to benefit from four new road safety schemes, costing more than £60,000.
The initiatives have been designed to help pedestrians and all are expected to be completed in the next couple of months.
Harry Shearring, Tendring Council's cabinet member for technical and contract services, said he was delighted the money had been made available for the vital projects and had agreed the work.
A new pedestrian crossing is to be installed near the junction of Old Road and West Avenue, in Clacton town centre, which will cost £13,000.
Another crossing is to be created in Valley Road, Clacton, as well as two mini-roundabouts in Burrs Road and Kestral Way, with a bill of £16,000.
