There was an extra bonus in store for church fundraisers at Frinton.
Just before a silent auction to raise funds for the Methodist Church in Ashlyns Road was held, a cheque for £1,000 was donated anonymously.
The auction itself, the fourth to be held by the church, raised £800.
There were more than 150 lots ranging from furniture, collectables, pictures and household items for sale and 130 people attended the event.
