Stanway Rovers will rest first-team players ahead of their away Essex Senior Cup third round fixture at Tiptree.

Rovers boss Steve Ball has one eye on their FA Vase match this Saturday and travels to the fixture at Chapel Road with fringe players likely to get a look-in.

The Jewson League first division side rest top-scorer Glenn Driver and Jimmy Clewley, but 17-year-old left back Ashley Howard is drafted into the squad from the reserves.

However, Tiptree, a league above their visitors, are looking forward to progressing in the FA Vase this weekend are also hoping for a run in the Essex Senior Cup.

Manager Neil Farlie said: "I want to stay in as many cup competitions as possible. Our league form is too indifferent so it is important that we have a good cup run."

Chris Powell is back following suspension, Andrew Brady will have a late fitness test on a groin injury and Ian Fish may miss out with an ankle strain.
