Pouring rain failed to dampen Canvey's spirits as 1,500 people turned out for a musical fireworks show.

Castle Point mayor Charles Smith said he was "very impressed" with the show put on by British Fire-works Championship finalists Highlight Pyrotechnics.
He also praised the residents who braved the bad weather.
