Plans for new waiting restrictions in North Street, Rochford, are likely to be dropped because of opposition from local residents.
The district council's environment committee will be told that there had been a number of objections to limited waiting restriction on the west side of the road.
Local people were concerned about where residents of cottages in the road which have no vehicle access would be able to park if the restrictions were imposed.
The committee will be recommended to vary the existing limited waiting restrictions, reducing the time from four hours to three, aimed at benefiting shoppers and traders.
