The site for Clacton's new primary school is set to be unveiled next week.
Essex County Council education bosses only have one piece of land under consideration at this stage but are not prepared to reveal where it is just yet.
Mike Singleton, planning and admissions adviser for Tendring, said a meeting had now taken place with heads of junior, primary and infant schools in the town.
The council will go out to consultation over the new 210-place school, which could be open within two years.
Last week, the Evening Gazette revealed that talks had taken place behind closed doors with Tendring councillors to inform them of the plans.
Mr Singleton said the county council did not want to go public until it had spoken to the heads at a special meeting at Holland Haven School, which took place on Tuesday.
He said: "They have now been fully informed, although we have been talking about the idea for about 18 months."
Public meetings have been arranged at Bishops Park College, on November 18, Clacton County High, on November 25, and at Colbayns High the following day. They all start at 7.30pm.
