Government minister Maria Eagle saw for herself the work being done in Basildon for disabled people.
The Minister for Disabled People opened the £650,000 Progression Centre, in Clay Hill Road, the county's first one-stop help and training point.

The centre, formerly Bader House, is owned by the Papworth Trust and has an IT suite, training kitchen and training rooms.
