Fire crews were called to a Basildon school today after a suspected gas explosion.
They went to Elmbrook Special School, in Church Road, at about 9.15am.
Police, paramedics and gas engineers were also called to the scene.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue said everyone was safe and added: "Two crews were called to fight what is believed to be a small to moderate size fire."
