Braintree Council has vowed to take up residents' power cut complaints with the Government and has urged residents to claim compensation.
Electricity company 24 seven was today due to face tough questioning over the delays in reconnecting supplies after Sunday's storms.
24seven has said it will not be offering compensation, claiming the storms were "extraordinary circumstances". Its managing director was due to face the press today.
In a statement to the full meeting of Braintree Council last night, leader of the council Ian Pointon (Lab, Witham North) said he would be presenting the views of the people of Braintree district to the minister for energy, who has launched an inquiry.
