The heartbroken family of a young boy killed in a car accident, today paid tribute to his memory.
Brian Mulenga, 13, suffered severe head injuries when he collided with a Mercedes on the London-bound track of Eastern Avenue, Southend on Monday.
The youngster was trying out a friend's bike when the accident happened because his mother, Hildah, thought it would not be safe to let him have one of his own.
In a touching tribute, his 16-year-old sister Brenda, said: "I loved you so much, Brian. We did a lot of things together and it's going to take me forever to get over your death.
"Thank you for being my brother.
"Big Brian, Melvyn and Charity, Innocent, Amanda, Busi, Christine and Mandla - they've all been to come and see you. To come and say bye. They loved you as much as I did. I'm sorry you had to leave without me saying goodbye. Go well. I love you."
His father Chola, from Cromwell Road, Southend, added: "Brian was a young, lively boy, full of hope for the future. He was our double joy. He took an active part in family life - always doing all the chores he was given and working hard at school. He will be sorely missed."
