Northlands Park regular Brian Sculley refused to be deterred by the weekends gales and was rewarded by a new personal best mirror carp of 25lb 10oz.
Brian was fishing the Northlands Park cafe lake, presenting his homemade boilie 12 inches off the big reed bed.
The fish was Brian's third new personal best carp in less than two months. He also took a sixteen pounder at Gloucester Park and 24lb common carp at Northlands Park.
Lee Farmer was another angler to brave the gales at Northlands Park, taking a 17lb 8oz common carp on a homemade boilie while fishing the cafe lake.
The weekends gales also encouraged the carp at Gloucester Park, with some excellent fish taken by those who beat the extreme conditions.
Ryan Hughes fished the big bay to land three carp from the near margins. Presenting Activate boilies under an overhanging tree Ryan tempted carp of 6lb, 10lb, and a new personal best specimen of 17lb.
Clive Pearce and Gary Brown fished the next swim to Ryan's to net six fish between them. The bigger specimens fell to Clive who netted carp of 11lb, 14lb and 15lb. Gary followed up with carp of 6lb, 11lb, and 12lb.
