Green campaigners are demanding the Government considers safer alternatives to nuclear power.
Southend Greenpeace will hand over the results of a sea wind survey conducted in Southend High Street to Southend West Conservative MP, David Amess
The group, which asked 506 people whether they wanted the Government to support "clean, green energy instead of more nuclear power", says 98.5 per cent opted for the green energy option.
The street polls, being run in towns around the country, are in response to the Government's public energy review.
A spokesman said: "People were more than keen to put their names behind wind energy.
"Only a very small minority were in favour of the nuclear option and we want the Government to reflect public opinion before making any decisions on energy policy."
Mr Amess will be presented with the survey results outside the Body Shop in Southend High Street on Saturday, at 11.30am.
