Andy Marshall is backing new manager Joe Royle to win over his Ipswich Town boo-boys.
The new Blues chief has proved an unpopular choice with some fans, a sprinkling of whom voiced their disapproval during Saturday's defeat by Gillingham.
But goalkeeper Marshall, who has also had to deal with criticism from the stands because of his links with rivals Norwich, told the Evening Gazette: "It really is a small minority.
"I know how galling it can be because I'll always have a few people on my back, regardless of how I play or whatever I achieve.
"But I can't afford to let them get me down, the same as the gaffer. Neither of us have got anything to prove to those people.
"My message to him is that the vast, vast majority are on our side.
"And their support is vital because I believe that together we can turn things round."
