An 80-year-old campaigner against problem trees and hedges fell foul of a toppling tree during the high winds.
Jack Warren, of Boult Road, Laindon, has complained about his neighbours' tall tree for a number of years, saying it would eventually fall down.

Yesterday's windy weather proved his point as the tree crashed down - into Mr Warren's shed.
Ironically, Mr Warren is not just the owner of a newly-crushed shed, he is also the Essex co-ordinator of Hedgeline, a national campaign group which aims to get Government legislature to control problem hedges and trees.
He said: "I've expected it to happen for years. I've complained for years but nothing was done. Now it has come down and smashed into my shed. If any of my grandchildren or my dog had been out there they could have been killed."
