A major new development aimed at revitalising a derelict site near Southend town centre was unveiled today.
The scheme aims to create new jobs and affordable homes on brown-field land at the junction of Southchurch Road and Christchurch Road.
Long-established local furniture business Coopers, which occupies part of the site, is planning to relocate its factory to more suitable premises elsewhere in the borough.
The plan is for a new development rising six storeys high in parts with 92 flats and six office suites, together with 111 parking spaces.
It has been proposed by London based property developers Hollybrook Ltd, through planning agents RPS, based in Stamford Street, Southwark.
