Steve Whitton, the Sorcerer's apprentice, will be going flat out to write a new chapter of history when he sends his Colchester United side out tomorrow to see off Mick Wadsworth's Huddersfield Town.
Whitton was Wadsworth's assistant during his seven months in charge at Layer Road in 1999.
And the current chief would no doubt take great pleasure in beating his old boss to record the U's first ever League or cup win at any of the Terriers' two grounds - Leeds Road or their current Alfred McAlpine Stadium.
In five trips to the West Yorkshire club, the U's have managed just two draws 0-0 in a 1976-77 Fourth Division clash and 1-1 in a superb League Cup tie in '96-97.
Only one point separates the two clubs going into tomorrow's match, both teams having won four of their 14 League outings but Huddersfield managing four draws to the U's three.
