A Tilbury fitness centre is now offering people the chance to exercise their minds as well as their bodies.
Thurrock Learning Partnership has teamed up with the Fitwise centre in Brennan Road for the latest Technology Access Point in the borough.
Fitwise now boasts two computers, printers and a scanner and members can use the computers to surf the web, use basic software and set up their own e-mail address all for free.
Geoff Wiseman, owner of Fitwise, said: "I'm delighted that our members now have the opportunity to get familiar with computers when they visit the gym.
"Everyone needs to know how to use a computer these days. Being able to use them here will help people to develop the confidence to enrol at a college course to gain a qualification or help with any other learning needs."
The TAP project is run by the Thurrock Learning Partnership, which is made up of 15 local organisations including the council's youth and play service, libraries and cultural services, as well as Thurrock and Basildon College and Thurrock Adult Community College.
