Roger Davies had cause for double celebration at Rochford Hundred over the weekend.

Firstly he teamed-up with regular partner Paul Kirkland to win the club's top Fourball Betterball competition for the Carr Hodsdon Cup.

Then they took on highly fancied duo Adam White and Neil Adams in the 36-hole final which had to be held over from Finals Day.

It was White and Adams who were in the driving seat after the morning 18 holes going in to lunch two up.

But Davies and Kirkland quickly hit back, taking the First two holes of the afternoon session. The lead changed hands several times before they finally ran out narrow 1 up winners after a gripping clash.

Then Davies went out with Richard Hayes to win the club's new Autumn Greensome Trophy, sponsored by club Captain Howard Southwood.

They notched up a tremendous 44 Stableford points to taste victory. Barry Finch and Eric Stanley pipped Peter Leslie and Paul Hooper for second place on countback after they notched 42 points.
