A Thorpe singer hopes to hit the right note with her entry in the Eurovision song contest.
Luisa Fletcher, 23, of Colchester Road, was approached by Essex songwriters Peter Day and Greg Tinge to sing a tune written especially for her to submit as a possible UK song.
But Luisa, a former Clacton County High School and Tiffany Stage Academy member, faced her first challenge to get the entry in on time.

On checking, they discovered they had five days to go, and Luisa still had to learn, rehearse and record the song, called Unicom, before they entered it.
After a struggle to find a recording studio, they eventually booked a slot at a Cambridge facility, and, recording the song in just over an hour, they then drove the CD to London to make sure it was entered for the competition.
Luisa said: "It's a really catchy tune. You can't stop humming it once you've heard it. The people who we've spoken to think it looks really promising."
