Sue Britten started her year as the new Lady Captain of Three Rivers in real sci-fi fashion.
A great fan of Star Wars, Sue based her drive-in ceremony on the flim. Dressing herself as Princess Leia she found the force was with her as she drove the ball 150 yards, one foot and two inches.
The morning continued with a nine hole better ball which was won by Angie Smith and Maureen Thorn (20 points).
Sue Scot and Wendy Wakefield were runners-up on 19 with Tam Lanmgley and Yvonne Chambers third on 16.
The ladies then enjoyed a three-course lunch with trophy presentation for the year. Helen Morgan was the Thorpe Hall gold medal winner with a net score of 69. Bronze winner was Ann Warrington on 75 net.
